Yaneli (she/her) graduated from the University of Illinois in 2022 with a Bachelor's of Science in Animal Science. She is applying to veterinary school this year with hopes of becoming a small animal veterinarian.

Yaneli is currently a veterinary assistant at the Royal Treatment Veterinary Center in Chicago, IL. This fall, she will begin a research internship at the Lincoln Park Zoo's Lester E. Fisher Center for the Study and Conservation of Apes, furthering her passion for wildlife and conservation efforts. 

Yaneli is committed to empowering the Latina/Latino community. She plans to continue supporting and creating new opportunities for current students and alumni. 

In her free time, Yaneli enjoys reading books, spending time with family, and exploring new spots around the city.
